Period Property Solutions is a small company based near Wrexham and established by Tim Nicholson to meet the demands of historic and listed buildings requiring specialist knowledge and the use of mainly traditional materials and skills. We offer a range of services coupled with an eye for detail and a good understanding of traditional construction techniques, proportion and style. Most of our work involves property built prior to 1900 that requires sensitive restoration or alterations.
Our Clients include private home owners, architects and major conservation organisations, and our experience ranges from humble barns and cottages to estate walls, timber framed buildings and impressive manor houses. Our approach is to combine traditional craft skills and materials with modern equipment and techniques to complete a project in the most appropriate and cost effective way.
Our small team of craftsmen are formally trained and highly experienced, this has given us an enviable reputation for attention to detail and the ability to overcome difficult repair and conservation problems. Most of our work is completed in house, however we occasionally use the services of specialist sub contractors to ensure that the overall quality and continuity of work is maintained.
Good communication skills can be just as important as good craft skills, especially when dealing with traditional buildings which invariably throw up a few suprises, whether it is a three day job or a six month project we make sure our clients are always aware of any problems and try to provide pragmatic solutions to overcome them. Our work brings us into regular contact with architects, planners and conservationists giving us a good rounded view of the complexities of working with historic and protected buildings.
Our consultancy service is available throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland, and covers most aspects of historic buildings from detailed structural surveying to statutory applications and conservation planning.
