PPS were recently asked to install the the innovative Pavadentro fibre boards in a small estate cottage. The product which is manufactured from waste soft wood is especially suitable for use in traditional buildings, and is designed as an internal insulator on external walls. Properly installed this system helps control the movement of moisture through the wall and significantly improves its thermal performance. It is hoped that the completion of the work in November will enable substantial fuel savings to be made over the coming winter.

PPS were recently awarded the contract for the repair and redecoration of the East Wing of Chirk Castle, a spectacular medieval fortress on the Welsh borders.

As principle contractors PPS are responsible for all masonry, joinery and glazing repairs, as well as all the protection works. Managing this type of project requires careful planning not only to ensure that the fabric and contents of the castle are properly protected but also to minimise disruption to the day to day operation of this popular National Trust attraction. The work at Chirk Castle is scheduled for completion in mid October.
