Masonry work

Alan Bevan joined PPS four years ago as head mason having spent more than twenty years working for CADW on numerous ancient monuments and other historic buildings. Alan has brought his valuable experience to the company ensuring that all our masonry work is completed to the highest standards.

Our masonry services include:
 

Stabilisation work, restoration, indenting, replacement stone, pointing, new building in block, brick or stone.

 

Carpentry and joinery

Led by Chris Jones, we specialise in insitu structural repairs, conservative repair techniques, and like for like replacement joinery.

Services include:

Roof repairs, timber frame repairs, replacement joinery including windows and doors, historic joinery and carpentry repairs.
 

Roofing

We have considerable experience with traditional roof repairs and construction, working in slate, tile and lead to ensure that the historic character of the roof is maintained.

Lime Mortars and Plastering

The properties of lime mortars are now well understood, however careful consideration must be given to its use taking into account the type of building materials, location, exposure and application. Correct specification is crucial when using lime products, many failures have occurred in recent years due to poor specifying or inexperienced users.
